Well, here it is Saturday and it is time to see our daughter off. It has been a nice visit. Melissa is ready to get home, see her cat and get on with her life. We also are ready to move on to the Olympic peninsula.
We decided to skip breakfast and have lunch on the way to the airport. As Seattle is having Sea Feast this weekend, the I-90 bridge is being closed down for the Blue Angels about the time we were originally going to head to the airport. An alternate course was made and not knowing how the traffic was going to be, we left around 10:30. We were almost to the airport by 11:00. We stopped at Claim Jumper for lunch (Melissa loves their tortilla soup - so do I).
Melissa didn't want to get to the airport until about 1 p.m. as her flight didn't leave until 3 p.m. so we drove around the Sea-Tac area for a while. Boy, the whole Seattle area is amazing and congested. We pulled up to the passenger drop-off area exactly at 1 p.m. Are we good or what? After hugs and kisses, she was on her way in to the terminal. With the new airline regulations, it makes it easier to say goodbye without tears because you simply don't have the time to get mushy. I had my tears of happiness when she arrived. We cherished the time with her and know that the next few months are going to fly by until we see her again.
As we were so close to Tacoma, after we left the airport, we drove over to Camping World to pick up a few things. I mentioned to John that I thought we should take a different route than the 405 to I-5 what with all the road construction going on that means narrow lanes. He said that would be fine with him so we have an alternate route picked out. Hopefully, road construction is not going on that route. We shall see on Monday.
