Yesterday, we spent the day doing laundry and preparing to move just west of Port Angeles on our continued loop around the Olympic Peninsula.
We left Hoodsport knowing that we had another short move that would take around two and a half hours. A good part of the drive was along the Hood Canal and was pretty. We were surprised that the drive was a lot more hilly than we had expected it to be. As there was a far amount of road construction going on, we had times when we came to a stop and I was able to look around with binoculars. In a bay where the tide had gone out, I was treated to the view of bald eagles -one adult and five immature. I'm not sure what they were doing.
When we rolled in to the Elwha Dam RV Park, we were told that we had a very nice site. The site is lovely and proved to be a bit of a challenge to get backed into. Once in, we could thoroughly enjoy our surroundings. The site is very private and lush with colorful plants, ferns, bushes and trees.
This will be a nice place to call home for a week.
We made a trip to the grocery store. Whew! It was the largest grocery bill we have ever had. We settled in for the evening hoping to watch some Olympics but are at the mercy of local TV stations. Once again, my satellite connection is not available because of all of the tall trees surrounding our site. Sigh! Interestingly, I can access about six TV channels and they are all Canadian stations. I did find a channel for the Olympics but it is in French and the signal is weak, so it doesn't do us much good. Thank goodness for the Internet.
