We got up and I got right on the phone with MotoSat. With guidance of a technician, I downloaded new software and ran different diagnostic tests. It came down to the receive cable. After having been up on the roof, hooking and unhooking cables, John suspected that the problem originated with the connector because it just didn't look right. We were hoping this would be the simple fix because otherwise, we would have to replace the whole cable that ran from the satellite in to our rig. We found an electrical repair place in town were the owner sold us four connectors for $1 and showed John how to replace the connector. John got back up on the roof and confirmed that when the system was installed, the connector on the receive cable had not been crimped so it had simply pulled loose. We were back on line with secure internet connection and TV.
While John went for a bike ride, I returned John's sister, Bonnie, phone call. Bonnie called early in the morning during the heat of trying to resolve the MotoSat issue. It was nice to get caught up as it had been a few weeks since we had last spoken.
The rest of afternoon was just spent hanging out while we indulged in a bit of TV.
