Oops, he did it again!

John and I did our 2 mile loop around the park first thing when we ran into Brenda who extended an offer for us to go to the Parker Indian Casino to have lunch with them and others from their side of the park. We were to meet them at 11 to head to Parker. John pulled up to the entrance and got too close to the rocks and broke the valve stem on the driver's front tire. Not again! When Bob drove up, we told them that we would have to pass as we had a tire to change and valve stem to replace. John set above changing the tire while I went into the office to see if I could get address/phone numbers of local tires stores. The office was very helpful and sympathetic about our situation. When I got back, John had the tire off and we set about putting the spare on the truck. Whew, those tires are heavy and awkward. . . . I was no help. John went to the office to see if he could get some assistance. By the time John came out of the office, I was out there with a gentleman who stopped to offer his assistance and shortly, a worker named Bob arrived. The three of them tried putting the spare on and were having difficulty. Another worker showed up and told the guys "You three, out of the way." They obliged and he had the tire mounted. He then turned and left on his golf cart; we barely had a chance to thank him. Bob recommended that we go to a truck stop in Wicksburg rather than trying to deal with the crowds in Quartzsite. This recommendation proved to be very worthwhile. When we got to the truck stop, John spoke with the tire guy and we got right in and were on the road within an hour.

We got to Parker two hours later than planned. We grabbed lunch and then headed to Safeway. While in Safeway, I got a call from Brenda who wanted to know if she could pick up anything in particular for us as she was at the store. I graciously thanked her but let her know that we also were in Safeway. How thoughtful that was of her.

Once we got home and got the groceries away, we had an hour to cool before we were to head to the Recreation Hall to play Bingo with Bob, Brenda, and others. The buy-in was $5 each. While neither of us hit a Bingo, it was rather cheap entertainment for 3 1/2 hours. A good time was had by all at our table. One of the ladies in our group won a Bingo so we had something to cheer about.
