We pulled out from Seven Feathers close to 10 a.m. The drive over the mountain passes were beautiful with all of the autumn colors. We pulled into Yreka a little after noon, filled up the truck with diesel ($3.29), and headed for the Yreka RV Park. This RV park is relatively new and is quite nice. The bathrooms were very nice, the sites long (we didn't unhook), and roads in the park were wide. The park sits up and away from the freeway so the noise is rather muted. A very nice place to stop.
Melissa returned my call from the night before and she seemed happy to hear that we were in California. It's always nice to hear from our girl.
After we had lunch, we pulled out the chairs and enjoyed the afternoon enjoying the sun. John bought a Sacramento Bee newspaper (ah, a touch of home) that we leisurely read. Later that night, we watched a little TV and called it a night.
