Goodbye Tucson

At long last, our time to leave Tucson has arrived.

We will miss the view out of kitchen window.
Beautiful sunsets
Our coyote friends
Antics of funny little Harris' Squirrels
One of my favorite birds - male Pyrrhuloxia (desert cardinal)
Another personal favorite - a male cardinal that showed up the last week we were there . . . at long last.  We've seen him flying around and heard his song for a couple of months but he didn't visit us until this week.
One of the benefits of staying through April is that we got to see many different migrating birds visiting our bird feeders on their way to who knows where.

Of course, any day you see a bunny is a good day and we usually had at least four visiting us daily.

After siting idle for six months, you wonder if you remember how to get yourself all loaded up and back on the road, ha, ha.  I'm happy to report that everything worked as expected and hook-up went flawlessly.  We got maybe 20 feet when John says that our Tow-Haul would not engage.  Great, here it Sunday and we are loaded up and ready to go.  What to do?  Prior to having the truck into a Ford Dealer for a required reflash of the computer a couple months ago, the Tow-Haul worked fine.  Coincidence, we don't think so.  The decision was made to go ahead and head to Camp Verde and we will see a Ford Dealer in that area.

We were surprised at the climbs we encountered after leaving Phoenix and how it opened up to some rolling grassland.  Thankfully, we made it safe and sound to Camp Verde.  We are enjoying the views around here with Pinion Trees, grass, and rolling hills.  Our first thing to do is get the truck checked out and then we will be free to play tourist.
