John placed a call to the closest Ford dealer at 7:30 a.m. and we were asked to come in at 8:30 a.m. Really? We were shocked as we didn't expect to get in until mid-week. Needless to say, we hurriedly pulled ourselves together and got there at 8:30 on the dot.
John gave the tech information about having taken it in for the required reflash two months ago and that the Tow-Haul had worked fine before but apparently not after. Long story short, tech says that one of the computer boards was wiped clean and from the computer records, the reflash was not done. Say what? The tech didn't want to finger the other dealership but what is one to think. We had been happy with the work done at that particular dealership in the past but aren't so happy now. Anyway, the tech set about reloading the computer board and updating all the reflash requirements. When the tech went to start the truck, he heard a wire short in the wiring harness of the steering column. So the part had to be ordered and is suppose to be in tomorrow and he will install it then. Sigh. John says he thinks that the short has something to do with the Tow-Haul not working. We shall see.
If things go as planned tomorrow, we will finish up at the Ford dealer and then head up to the old mining town of Jerome.
